As far as CST Brothers are concerned division which took place in 1978 was a determinable turning point. After the division, CST Brothers growth was very fast. At the time of division there were only 19 Religious Brothers in the congregation. By 1985 there was a considerable growth in the number of brothers in the congregation. As invited by Archbishop Menamparambil CST Brothers started Mission work in Assam in 1986. Besides Palluruthy and Thrikkakara new centers were started at Mananthavady and Muthalakodam. In memory of the Golden Jubilee of the congregation CST Welfare centre was started at Mookkannur. New institutions started at Koottumugham in the district of Kannur, at Mathumkal Chempu- Vaikom in the district of Kottayam and at Puthencruz in the district of Ernakulam. The Congregation also started Ashrams at Ayamkudy in Kottayam district and Ayur in Kollam district. 
At present there are six Ashrams and adjoining institutions in the Assam area. Since local vocations are encouraged many youths from north-east are joining the congregation. The congregation could start new mission centers at Baripada in Orissa and Repalliwada in Telengana state during the period of 1994-97. At present there are 5 Ashrams, Govt. approved ITIs, English Medium High schools, Tribal hostels, Steel production centers and nursery schools in the above two states. These institutions are functioning smoothly.

The Generalate of the congregation which was functioning at Mookkannur was shifted to Angamaly South in 1997. CBSE English Medium school started functioning at Mookkannur from 1997 onwards. This educational institution has become a senior secondary school now. Founder of the congregation, Mar. Augustine Kandathil Golden Jubilee memorial hospital was started in 1951. Since this hospital building was very old and dilapidated it was demolished and reconstructed with most modern facilities. Little Flower Ashram church at Mookkannur was also rebuilt in 1984. Old buildings of the ashram and orphanage at Mookkannur were renovated in the following years. Balanagar ITI Complex at Mookkannur was built during different periods. 

 
PROVINCES

The CST Congregation was divided into two provinces in 2014- named as St. Joseph Province and Sacred Heart Province.

Headquarters of St. Joseph Province is at Sonaighuli, Assam. It consists of ashrams and institutions in Assam, Meghalaya and half of the ashrams and institutions in Kerala. The St. Josephs Province is going ahead with the strength of vocations from the North-East. Formation of candidates from there is going on at Sonaighuli. Their +2 course and continuing formation are held at Battamari, Tezpur and their novitiate is at Little Flower Novitiate House at Chabua in the diocese of Dibrugarh, Assam state.

The headquarters of the Sacred Heart Province is at Thrikkakara, Kerala. Sacred Heart Province consists of half of the ashrams and institutions in Kerala and the entire states of Telengana and Orissa. Aspirancy of candidates for brotherhood in this province is at Kanthipara, in the Diocese of Idukki. Then they make their +2 study at Tezpur, Assam and their novitiate is at Chabua in the Diocese of Dibrugarh, Assam. Those who take first profession are called Junior Brothers and they are sent for Theological studies in Bangalore.

 The Congregation wasraised to Major Archiepiscopal Right on 19th March 2020 by the Major Archbishop of Syro-Malabar Church, His Beatitude George Cardinal Alencherry.
